I am a free lance sculptor.  I am looking for graphic design professionals and students to participate in a charitable “open source” art project.

          I call it “Angel Share.”

I create beautiful steel or cast angel sculptures for churches, hospitals, and private gardens.  Unlike photographers, graphic artists, and painters, once I have sold the sculpture, I have no central vested economic interest in the 2D reproduction of my work.

I’ll be glad to provide good quality, high resolution, basic studio photos of my angel sculptures  for students and professionals to use as the basis to create print ready designs non profit charities only can use for free (or nearly so) to put on cards, coffee mugs, tee shirts or whatever for their fund raisers.

Neither I nor the designers make money on this.  You will get credit for your work and people will see your work.

Importantly, your work will have a positive effect on the world and you’ll be doing it for a good cause—unlike a lot of highly paid design work you do.

I stumbled upon this several years ago when I designed four Christmas cards for my church (Church of the Nativity—Episcopal) in Raleigh, NC to sell.  They raised enough funds (after paying for printing costs) to send two orphaned Ugandan girls to school for a year.

My art had never done that.

It had always been about “find a client, get the job, do the job, get the money, pay the bills, promote myself so the whole cycle could begin again.”

          This is different.

I have never believed “art can Change the World!!!” in a political propaganda and self important sense.  But Art can change somebody’s world—a little money raised here, a little beauty placed there, a quiet example set.

So join me if you’re interested.

Pass this along to somebody you think may be if you’re not.
